Willie’s Guide to Local Eats, Antiques, & Other Good Mistakes

🍺 Willie’s Bar

Tucked just a short walk from your camper, this on site bar has that old-school feel—low lights, screen door slap, and somebody always laughing ‘bout somethin’.

Some nights, they serve free food so good you’ll wanna slap ya mama, then fix her a plate too.

The music’s always playin’, the drinks stay cold, and if you sit long enough, someone will pull you into a story that starts with “Y’all ain’t gonna believe this...”

🛍️ Downtown WashingtOn

Founded in 1720 and the third oldest settlement in Louisiana, historic Washington has enough charm to make you slow down and stay a while.

You’ll find antique shops, thrifting treasures and folks who wave whether they know you or not. It’s the kind of town where a ten-minute walk turns into an hour and a half—because you made a friend or two along the way.

🛍 Weekend wanderings-

Out here, weekends don’t stay quiet for long. Farmers markets, car shows, craft fairs, and front-yard BBQs tend to pop up like mushrooms after a rain.

You might stumble on a lady selling homemade soap next to a dude grilling ribs out of a truck bed—and both of ‘em’ll want to chat.

It’s small-town Cajun magic: a little bit planned, a little bit “hey, y’all come look at this.”

🐟 Bayou side Fishing

Got a rod? Good. Got a cooler? Even better. Grab a spot by the water and wait for nature to do her thing.

You might catch dinner or just peace of mind, you’ll hear frogs, see birds, and maybe meet a local or two who’ll share a bait tip—or a beer.

🍴 Local eats

Whether you’re lookin’ for white tablecloths or a Styrofoam plate that drips on your shoes, we’ve got you covered.

Steamboat Warehouse – Upscale Cajun classics served in a historic riverside building with live oaks, linen napkins, and étouffée that’ll make you emotional.

Old Courtableau Café – Cozy hometown diner with a big heart and even bigger portions. Great coffee, good folks, and daily plate lunches the locals swear by.

Gas Stations (Yes, Really) – Around here, the best boudin, cracklins, and stick to your ribs meals to-go are found right next to the motor oil. If there’s a line at the warmer, get in it.
